G’day, I’m Chris — the guy behind Stills in Motion.

I grew up in the rural Waikato, where life in the countryside gave me a deep appreciation for nature and the landscapes that surround us. That curiosity sparked a desire to see what else the world had to offer.

Throughout my 20s, my journey has taken many turns — from working on farms to travelling the globe, teaching scuba diving, and most recently, navigating the fast-paced rhythm of city life. One thing I’ve come to realise is that powerful stories are everywhere — if you’re open to seeing them.

Since building Stills in Motion, I’ve worked on a wide range of projects — big and small. Over time, I’ve brought together a crew of like-minded creatives with the skills to elevate any production. From camera operators, photographers, and assistants to producers, directors, and gaffers — we’ve got the team and the confidence to take on any project, no matter the size.

My goal is simple: to capture and share stories in a real, honest way — creating pictures with purpose.
